My Vibe Coding Profile

I am happy to embrace this more relaxed approach to coding. The focus is more on letting AI speed up productivity and support with creating things like minimal viable products (MVP) or software-for-one.

I haven't fully embraced the ability for AI to build and/or manage larger coding projects but you never know. It may happen, especially with low or no code tools. Having been an active AI coder I have seen the end result of getting AI to build more complex projects and it isn't great!

In the meantime vibe coding for me is the getting things up and running stage. The building software-for-one stage. The MVP "this is what I have are you interested" phase.

So, here is my VIBE CODING PROFILE:

I am based in the UK (West Midlands) and have over 10 years experience with WordPress. I became a full-stack developer in March 2024. After my course, I had no clue how to do much, other than the basics, and felt stranded and alone.

Along came ChatGPT, Perplexity and then Claude.ai. Now I enjoy a hybrid / vibe coding existence as a pro member of Claude.ai.

At one point I had pro membership to both ChatGPT and Claude but I just preferred the way Claude provided answers.

I have also used Cursor and GitHub CoPilot in Visual Studio Code to provide answers but didn't always like the way they changed the code.

I know a little about coding and I let AI handle the boilerplate so I can focus on the big picture.

Using prompt engineering I guide AI to crank out high-quality code while adding my personal touch.

I enjoy building create responsive, intuitive web experiences using AI to handle the heavy lifting - code generation, security, and debugging.

I am a self starter - see my Belbin Report - who prefers small fast-moving projects where impact is direct and meaningful

I have built things on my own with AI help. I still believe I need to steer/guide AI and I am able to help with debugging sometimes.

I am a persistent problem solver - I am tenacious. I want to make things work. Full stop!

VIBE CODER PROJECTS

I have added my projects to my portfolio including:

News Aggregator - software-for-one - in this case me. I had an inbox full of newsletters and youtube videos so I changed that and used Claude to build an aggregator. Now I visit there and keep up to date with my favourite authors.

Project Tracker - This was 100% vibe coding. I set up a prompt and got Claude to build a project tracker. I use it to add all of my projects to it so I can keep up to date with where I am.
